BARRON'S E-Z SPELLING

English spelling is so tricky that it even frustrates accomplished writers. As author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, once eloquently expressed, "The only stupid thing about words is the spelling of them." E-Z Spelling, part of Barron’s E-Z series, is here to help.

The book begins with a look at the why spelling is so difficult, the limitations and pitfalls of spellcheckers, how to use spellcheckers to better advantage, and learning techniques for spelling improvement. From there, E-Z Spelling explains rules and their exceptions and offers techniques for learning and remembering them, provides study lists of commonly misspelled and commonly confused words, and includes extensive opportunities for practice.

E-Z Spelling Book

This book includes a little poem on one of the issues with relying completely on spellcheck programs. Of course the poem, filled with wrong word choices correctly spelled, passes spellcheck.

“With Awl My Hart” is dedicated to my deer, suite husband, Jeff.  :)
